Who We Are
Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) was formed by a group of dog lovers in 2008 to help street dogs as well as destitute and abandoned canines. Initially, we carried our activities under non-governmental organisation Community Development and Integration Initiative Bhd. However, the increasing demand in regards to animal welfare as well and need to strengthen our branding, MDDB was incorporated as a non-profit organisation in 2016. We currently have a sanctuary in Rawang as well as a half-way-home in Petaling Jaya. While the sanctuary homes young strapping and robust dogs, our half-way-home is where we house our old, special needs and disabled dogs. It is also a palliative care centre that provides end of life care for canines.
MDDB is a canine welfare initiative that aims to rescue, treat, rehabilitate, re-home and shelter street and destitute dogs. We are a no-kill organisation, currently caring for about 400 dogs, of which around 90 are special needs and geriatric.
